Link your own paper and the analysis efficiently

WORK SHEET 5

Illustration

It is time-consuming and nervewracking to upload working papers and their “supplementary materials”, i.e. data and analyses, separately into a repository and then to match them again. It is more efficient and better for your nerves if you link your analysis and your paper from the very beginning.

Duration: depending on the status of your research project

Organise your research from the very beginning in projects. Start with a folder bearing the project’s name and create two subfolders named “manuscript” and “additional materials” for data and analyses. Once you have finished your project and your paper, work continues seamlessly in the Open Science Framework, because all materials in your project are already linked.

Checklist:

  • Create folder with project name
  • Create subfolder “manuscript”
  • Create subfolder “additional materials”
  • Sort research documents painstakingly

Congratulations!
